I've gone through 2 and a half chapters now with Ember at 0/4 burn and it's starting to irritate me. Whenever I try to use an infusion or whatever, it doesn't let me because she doesn't have the burn to do so, so it's not like it's applied automatically. Gather power does ... You can still play a Dhampir Kineticist, but you need to know how Kineticist functions so that you're not mislead. It functions basically like a spellcaster, it channels energy to shoot blasts of energy, or form it into a sword to hit things. I have a build in the guides section that uses psychokineticist for fire/fire. With the acolyte background it can get high persuasion for use with deadly carnage. For pure fire/fire builds there really isn't a downside to using pscyhokineticist over regular kineticist, because fire/fire doesn't care about combat maneuver bonus.
