I have both a Marlin 783 and a 25mn in 22 wmr. The 783 has a nice walnut stock with pressed checkering while the 25mn (2000 version) has a walnut stained hardwood stock w/o checkering. I'd rather not have any checkering if it is not real cut checkering. Both are eqally accurate with a variety of 22wmr ammunition.

So the answer would be no the 782 was not made in 22lr. I don’t think the bolts would be interchangeable between the two, but I’m not sure. You can always look online at Numrich for a 782 bolt. The 783's bold head fit on the X7 / XL7's bolt and fits Savage barrels right for a good head space and what some are doing. If using the X7 / XL7 bolt with a Savage barrel, about 10 thousands has to be shaved off the Marlin bolt head face for them to align right for a good head space.
