It's a fair point, as a matter of fact. It's true that 9mm is more or less a baseline when it comes to handgun calibers for self-defense.
It is much larger and only holds 6 rounds. The LCP Max is significantly smaller in every dimension, but holds 10 or 12! The P365 shoots 9mm very well. I bet in .380 it would be even better. I have both and find the Sig 380 has less recoil than the G42. I also have both the P365 9mm and Glock 43 and the same goes with the Sig P365 9mm and G43. Not a Sig fanboy. I have 6 Glock models and still not a fanboy of any brand.

Picked up a Ruger LCP II with its very glock- ish trigger last year, and it has proven every bit as reliable accurate and easy to shoot as the Glock in a smaller package. It is now my pocket go to gun. I keep the Glock 42 for when I have to loan the Ruger to friends visiting for a carry pistol, and for gssf pocket matchesThe LCP is not nearly as easy to shoot as the G42/43. But for a mouse gun, the LCP is pretty darn capable, and so much smaller than a 42/43. For me, the LCP's small size is what justifies carrying a .380 instead of 9mm. But for the recoil sensitive, the G42 is the way to go for sure.
