First and foremost, according to TNT, changing your pet's gender will not cause it to convert. Using the Lab Ray to try for a gender change is a bad idea, however, as it can cause color or species changes that will convert your pet. If you have an unconverted pet and would like to change its gender, we recommend battling the Lab Ray Scientist.
My lab rat started out as male blue Ixi and now we’re at a female blue Peophin. It’s been a Biscuit Elephante and a Purple Jetsam at one point. But after zapping for probably 100 days straight, I can probably count less than 10 of those have been species/color changes. 2. I didn’t use the lab ray with the battledome in mind, so I can’t really comment on that, but it does look pretty impressive to have a swole pet—although the stats that the lab ray gives are definitely unbalanced.
