In the past I mixed in some strength training w free weights but have slacked on that in anticipation of my Tonal arriving. Curious how folks have integrated both into training. Your heart rate should be elevated into the 130+ range the entire time for 30 minutes. All too often people get on a bike or treadmill and go for a slow exercise. Heart rate low not really paying attention etc. This doesn't burn calories very quickly. Whoever has enough money to shell out for this beautifully designed piece of crap exercise equipment has the money to spend on an endless subscription. Peloton knows this and this is why they're doing it. For the budget conscious; there's exercise bikes out there without all these bullshit "smart" features.I too am someone who enjoys running more than cycling. For me, I chose to go with the Peloton cycle and a non-Peloton tread. Truthfully, the magic to Peloton really is their content. I think replicating the rides (cadence/resistance) call outs are harder for the bike vs speed/incline on the treads.

The OG Peloton tread is a monster and it's amazing. Slat-based. Very natural hit on the deck when you run. Not like the abnormally bouncy OF treads. The new smaller Peloton tread has more give, but it's nowhere near the bounce of OT While I like taking OT classes, at home, I prefer a more natural hit on my tread.

I have both models (long story). The tread plus is significantly better from a running perspective. The foot feel is superior and feels like running on a real road. The monitor is bigger and is closer to eye level for taller people (I’m 6’1).
