yes, i'd say there are normally about 12-25 people on a competitive server at most points throughout the day. And there are more people on some other servers just there for fun. This game is definitely worth buying even on it's own.

Depends on the game mode. If you're looking for Blast, it's pretty much dead. Overall, imo, the game is kinda dead.
