For some random biopharma stock I get it, but acting like SPY isn't as safe a bet as it gets to do covered calls is essentially saying that you think the apocalypse is coming. If SPY becomes worthless the world becomes worthless. Yes it's a good idea for God's sake. If you sell CCs, you're going to miss big gains on the days it goes up a lot. Selling naked options can expose you to extreme risks, and to ignore it is simply reckless. It's more important to avoid a huge loss than to make a huge profit, because all it takes is one big loss on a trade to make recovering from it impossible, ending your career in theta gang.
