Basically it lets you get a regular 2nd level class feat instead of spending it on a multiclass feat. It's more limited since you can't use it for non-multiclass archetypes but is generally going to be valuable. Overall, though, I think rogue is the best multiclass for increasing thaumaturge DPR, followed closely by monk.Thaumaturge from the dark archives is my suggestion. the play test was remarkably witcher like as well. I had the Thaumaturge from the play test with an alchemist dedication and a few feats into scrolls so i can use them as i wish for the magical aspect.The key is that if you have two implements in your hand (say a passive + active, like Tome/Wand), both of those hands can additionally hold a scroll. So you can always be loaded with two spells per combat even though your hands are fun.
