My assumption is that the manufacture of all guns of a particular gauge was completed within a year or two from the introduction date. Guessing that the introduction date of the 28 gauge was about 1986, the date of a 28 gauge in the 3000 serial number range should have been maybe 1987 or 1988. On a friendly challenge from a noted Browning collector, he perfectly duplicated Felix Funken's "Smiling Dog" on the rear of the receiver on the 16 gauge. Attached photo shows an original example of Funken's work; unfortunately J J recently sold both guns so I have no comparison photo of his work, but I can tell you it was good!

Parker stock identification. I have a parker gun stock with the trigger gaurd on it. Need help identifying what model and gauge it is. The trigger gaurd and stock are stamped 8847. The trigger gaurd also has engravings and C H P. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
