Mode door actuator location.
Hey Everyone, So I’ve got a 2013 Malibu that I need to replace the mode or blend door actuator. I’ve found it, but it’s a total pita to get to. What I did was removed the glove box, and then the mount that the glove box attaches to. The problem is that I CANNOT get to the screws because of the location. They mounted it way the hell up there.

The Blend Door actuator is located in the center of the core box, up under the dash. The Mode Door actuator is on the left, and the Resirc Door actuator is at the top of the dash near the windshield. There is a replacement Mode or Blend actuator available at most auto parts stores, Dorman Part# 604-107, price of $39.99.Tighten with the thumb ratchet. Don't over tighten. Don't plug the harness yet. Place the first ("W") actuator back in place. "Hand start" the two screws and tighten with the thumb ratchet. Don't over tighten. The larger white one with the gear teeth attached is for the vent / floor door. The old actuator on the left and the new one on the right.
