The washer will not properly operate with only one incoming source of water. The water valve inside the machine needs to have the “pressure” from both attached hoses in order for the washer to complete the cycle. If a cold water wash is selected, the washer is designed to add hot water to keep the temperature optimal for cold wash performance.
This washer has sensors that detect the water supply and requires both hoses to have water going to the water valve. If it does not detect both water supply hoses are turned on, the control detects a problem with the water pressure sensor. The lid will lock, and the machine will enter a pump out mode for 8 minutes. If the cycle has been completed this may unlock the door, if the washer is in mid-cycle it will trigger a drain cycle, once completed, the door should unlock.
