4 years ago. This is also happening to me on my TV. Closed Captioning is set to ON under device preferences but still turns off. I end up having to go to the bottom of the screen and selecting CC again to turn it on. Started a few weeks ago. Very annoying.

I have tried hitting the center button on my xf1 remote and then using the left arrow. I have tried pause and using the left arrow. On the Xfinity remote (mine has a section with OK and 4 directional arrows, all silver colored) Press the silver down arrow. Press the silver left arrow until the cartoon ballon icon is highlighted. Then go back into the Xfinity app and start a program. CC is defaulted to on, so pause the program and at the bottom of the screen arrow over to cc, turn it off.
