10. Posted November 1, 2012. Make sure your primary fuel filter is a Mack brand filter. Many other filters may say they fit but the Micron rating might be to small and since the primary filter is on the suction side its hard to suck through 5, 7 or 10 micron when it should be and 25 or 30.

The Macks are solid for tough work. I've driven Petes and KW's in the oilfield that were about equal in dependability. Petes and KWs may have a few more creature comforts but I like the Mack too. One thing is for sure, we don't have a terrible amount of emissions related problems with the MP8. The co. brought in some IH's with ISX Cummins.

Posted August 27, 2016. Have a 2016 Mack Granite 1400 miles, with a regen problem. It will not do a passive regen which results in the filter getting clogged every 4 days. We average speeds of over 60 Mph. The check engine light came on and I took it to Mack. they said that it needed a regen although it did not request it.
