Strats are not the end-all-be-all, a lot of them include suboptimal directions, forget important directions, or simply have objectively incorrect major errors that will kill or confuse the player. Have an open mind. If you think of a better or safer way to do something than strats suggest, don't be afraid to try it and continue to apply it.
